Fails to make the draft for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Unsurprisingly really.

Ooooooooooh

He never had a chance…he has no American football programming and the NFL has plenty of superior athletes

I could never see it, Mozart.

Anycase you can’t fault the guy for trying ….that NFL program is tough….obviously much different to Rugby….apparently he might Still get into a Training squad of sorts….don’t know how that works….otherwise maybe he should think of joining a different rugby team then Wales.

I read an interesting article about a English rugby player that actually made it. I think he is a former Northampton lock and he says it took him 3 years just to get to understand how they play the game. It is more about learning the play book, you have to do so much gym work and fitness. On top of that, you have to become a London cabby. So many calls to learn before you become effective. The problem with Reece, is that he will have to use his brain and be able to store all the plays in his head, all the knew ones. They constantly change, they if he doesn't learn his role then it becomes really hard. It is such a tactical sport. It is almost like 4D chess. Then, if you get injured, there is no safety net. You don't get the support or care

Zammit will need to go play college ball for a season or 2 before they will even look at him properly. I think him being drafted was a publicity stunt.

I also watch Dan Carter pod cast where he said he thought he could switch to NFL and just become a kicker, but he was reall blown away by the owner that wanted to know how much passion he has. He gave him a ball and told him to practice and come back. He gave it a few kicks and then just realised he couldn't kick the ball the same way as a rugby ball and just gave up

Watching the game it’s so fucking boring I can’t begin to imagine why they have so many calls

A bunch of fatties bashing into each other with the only real skill showed by the quarterbacks and wide receivers

I’ve watched loads of interesting documentaries relating to the sport with footage of college sides being documented for the season etc

Obviously in these documentaries they show you all the highlights, the amazing throws that go to hand.

I thought to myself after watching these documentaries that I’d give a few live pro games a watch - wow what a disappointment and an anticlimax

It was awful to watch - the bloody majority of the throws never find their targets - it’s a typically boring American game just like basketball and baseball

I used to watch a lot of American Football when I was younger and my boyfriend played.

I actually watched some this weekend and couldn’t believe how dull it was. I’m sure it used to be better in the 80’s and early 90’s !

I read that the Jaguars were looking to pick him up

That said you have to be more than exceptional to jump the cue of upcoming US college footballers that have fought hard to climb up through the ranks. It's almost unheard of and delusional for some limey with no experience to even think about breaking into the NFL.

The sooner he returns to Welsh rugby the sooner they will start returning to their winning ways. He is sorely missed.

Louis is a talented athlete and it looks like he is adamant to succeed…Welsh Rugby is not in the best of position’s so Zammits possible return, will be good for them….his motive is not only to play American Football, but to live in America as him and his family has been going there for holidays for a long time already….the guy loves America :)

A bunch of fatties bashing into each other

Sounds like you and the boys at the pub, Dave.

"I thought to myself after watching these documentaries that I’d give a few live pro games a watch - wow what a disappointment and an anticlimax"

Agreed, I know we don't have a horse in the race, but we were spoiled by the game of Rugby...nothing else comes close...love cricket and the strategy and skill that goes onto planning and managing a contest over 5 days of changing conditions, but it doesn't come close to the thrill that is our Rugga, especially when the Bokke play...and my WP...fantastic!!!@

Spot on Draad - nothing comes close to rugby

Cricket is next best but I’ve fallen out of love with it thanks to the pathetic SA set up post the class of Kallis, Amla, AB, Steyn, Morkel and co

I can’t be bothered to watch the current clown show which is really sad

Apparently a whole load of fans spent £100 each on Kansas City Chiefs shirts with his name on and are now not best pleased.

Should’ve waited to see if he made the cut :)

Aug 30, 2024, 01:27

Rohan Janse van Rensburg should have played in the NFL

Aug 30, 2024, 08:58

Louis is liked and those shirts will mean a lot to his Fans…Kansas Chiefs or Jaguars, it doesn’t really matter..the man had the guts to try :)
