I would pick Schalk over Luke at 6,7 and 8...and I was a Luke fan...he was also a handy 8 at times IIRC...but Schalk was so much more.
Schalk was never a 6 too big for the role and he spent most of his time targeting contact - the job of a 7.
Luke was far better with ball in hand, had a better skill set. Schalk was bigger and stronger who tried to bash his way through everything. It was effective to a certain degree
He played his best rugby for Saracens where he started to use his skill set attacking space instead of traffic
I think they were two very different players.
But I’d vote Luke as my favourite
