The following from news 24:-

Argentina lock Matias Alemanno has signed for Gloucester on a long-term deal, the English Premiership club announced on Wednesday.

First capped by Los Pumas in 2014, the 28-year-old has since become a key member of the Argentina pack, earning 61 caps and representing his country at the 2015 and 2019 Rugby World Cups.

Gloucester head coach George Skivington said he was a "fantastic addition" to the squad.

"He brings a lot of the attributes we've been looking for in that area and we think he can continue to develop with us and complement players we already have in the squad," he said.

It is no wonder that Gloucester agreed to let Mostert go to Japan - they were looking for a better player and found one,   Allemanno is a 28 Year old with the following stats:

    *   Height      =     1,99 meter

    *   Weight     =      117 kgs

Argentina has used Allemanno  at both at Lock and Loosie - but he is  very physical and gave opposing team a lot of problems.    He played 61 tests for Argentina and is a very good player.   English conditions will suit him much better than in the case of a  player like Mostert.

This really brought a tear to my eye. The brilliance of Alemanno has been overlooked far too long. Take his magnificent stats off the sub bench against England at the WC:

Yes I kid you not.....in only 3 runs this great player managed a whole metre and while he missed a tackle,  judge him not, he only attempted 4!

And he is uniquely suited to Gloucester conditions....that’s the really great part.
