From my perspective Erasmus and Brown dooes not want to return to the forward domination effort of he past and retain the muti-purpose game they used in Australia.   With that in mnd I tink Rapportis vey enaq to the mark when it comes to he above situation.

However.- that meas there could ebquestion marks as t the following:-

Full back

Le Roux is and was an element of importance in th backlne when it comes to attacking - but he is getting older and his pace is too slow so it is a negative for him - he is not getting younger  and his age is a negative.   So I tink the full Black shoud be Fassi.

Scrumhalf

Reinach and Wlliams are the two options - one will start and the other one on the bench,  I do not know who of the who will start and who will be on the bench.

Lock

Moving Du Toit back to lock will be a sound move and likey to happen.   It gives the team an advanement of the bal-in-hand game and in that regard - since Du Toit has ball sense  he would be a better option as an addition to attacking play by the Spriingboks,   I am a great admirer of Snyman - but he seems to be injurry prone and that makes him a dodgy choice to start as lock.

Loose head Prop

Would not be surprised if Steenekamp is chosen - he and Ox seems to be the future props of the Springboks and Kitshoff - who was not as prominent in recent tests are likely to be phased out, gradually.

Loosies

I will use Smih to replace Kolisi as openside bench flank with Smith - he has a much better grasp of rugby then Van Staden who is  dolt.   .

Maybe Jasper Wiese wil be on the bench? Fuck man and Wilco, when will he ever get his shot? Pieter had a huge game at lock and BJDixon + Elrigh also have been playing well….Gerhard is a strong LH….Sacha is Great….so a strong team I would say.

Good side id prefer to see Ox, Marx, RG and Williams starting though

With Hendrikse on the bench 9 - move on from old man Reinach

Definitely would have Thomas on the bench ahead of Koch and Wiese ahead of v Staaden on the bench

Another good move would be to start Kwagga at 6 instead of Kollisi and make Pieter Captain.

Aug 26, 2024, 12:15

No Kolisi is better than Kwagga who has never impressed as a starter

His impact is off the bench

My picks...

Fassi for Willie(no point with the future in mind)

Hendrikse for Reinach

We will kow by tomorrow afternoon what he team would look like.

Aug 26, 2024, 16:21

RG is still injured, so I just read. And Eben is 50/50

Aug 26, 2024, 16:33

This would be a good opportunity to bring a new lock in like Ruben V Heerden…he should actually be there already, but better late then never.

So with Nortje and Stef starting most probably and RG + Token Moeras out, they will have to bring in a new lock for cover…

Aug 26, 2024, 18:50

You would think so.

Aug 26, 2024, 19:13

Look at it this way, in a twisted way Rassie's hand is forced to select and unearth new talent which might not have happened.

Aug 26, 2024, 20:05

Never going to happen - Rassie’s blind spot with locks is going to bite him on the arse

The only fit locks in the squad are Nortje and Nico Janse v Rensburg - neither should be in along with Moerat

It should have been Ruben v Heerden, Jason Jenkins and Ruan Vermaak

Aug 26, 2024, 20:27

Oh man I forgot about Nico….so he will most probably be on the bench?

I really think it’s ridiculous that Ruben gets invited to the alignment camps, his name gets mentioned by Erasmus for selection, but then out of the blue a van Rensburg gets called up into the squad ??!

Does his form even validate him being mentioned, let alone selected?! This has definitely got favouritism written all over it.

Aug 26, 2024, 21:35

Yeah I don’t get it at all. Can’t say I have ever rated Nico he is at best solid but fuck sake he is 30, what’s the bloody point?

It’s all down to this crap of knowing the system - Nico sort of does but Ruben does not

Nico ahead of Ruben is such a backwards call and makes absolutely no sense at all

It’s not moving on from the older players as we certainly need to be doing
