The only way Djokovic can go into the Turin Players Championship and get the reqard for being Player of the Year will be to win in the Paris Tournament.   If he is eliminated and CAlcaraz win in this tournament  Alcaraz will win the Player of the Year trophy.    If Alcaraz wins in this tournament and in Turin he will go into the 2024 player as the number one ranked player.

The real situation as indicated above is rather fluid.   Bsed on the above there will be no change in rankings for Medvedev (3)  and Sinner (4) and Rublev seems to go into the 2024 season as the number 5 player in the year.   

For most players this tournament will determine in what position in the ranking list the players will enter the 2024 season.     

Djokovic hatred of Covid 19 vaccination paid off when his main rival Alcaraz was rukled out oif any tennis until Janiuary 2024 due to Covid 129 infection.    

There are two minor tournaments in which no top 10 players are playing this coming week - followe3d by the Turin Tournament in which .all bar 2 of the top 10 players will play.   After that it will be possible to finalize the rankings of players iro the January 2024 tournaments will be finalized.   

I have marked out the players who play this week in Metz and Sofia on the above rankings and will update that by Sunday.    I will before the Turin tournament start a new thread on rankings as art 1 January 2024.
