I intially t hought I would only update the impact of the two tournamnts but then to my surprise found that 13 ranked players will be playing in the two tournamnets - while others could also be effected - so I decided that I would rather do the normal and provide rankings on a weekly bases or fortnightly basis.
I must admit that with the F rench Open starting on 26 May 2024 I am not surprised that so many of the players entered to play in the two tourinaments. Some of the players under-performed in the European clay couirt season and want another tournament to sharpen themselves up. The first name on that list is Djokovic who thus far this year under-performed in all torunaments he played in this year and as the winner of the French Open in 2023 needed some match time after skipping both the Madrid and Rome Open tournaments.
The Draw for the French Open will be done on 24 May 2024 but does not take into account any changes resulting from these two tounaments played this week - the rankings as at 18 May 2028 will be used to determine seedings in the French Open.
