Duplication.

So whom of the seeded players are gone?

Round 1        -     Matteo Berrettini (12)

 Round 2       -     Rafael Nadal(2), Casper Ruud(5), Hubert Hurkacz, (8), Grigor Dmitirov (15)

The highly-favored, Nic Kyrgios also departed from the tournament in Round 1.   I wonder which seeds will be out of conetion after Round 3?

One has to begin wondering why the senior players - like Nadal and Djokovic do not play matches anymore for months at a time.   When they come back afterwards their performances are  mostly disastrous.

Wrong again when the Joker came back he won Wimbledon and when Nadal came back he won the French and Oz. You have a funny interpretation of disastrous.

Aug 20, 2022, 06:24

And wrong again I have just finished watching Norrie take Alcatraz. Care to revise your confident statement that he is going to be the youngest grand slam winner in recent times. Norrie was hardly stellar but Alcatraz is beginning to look like a bit of a choker.

Do you ever get anything right about tennis…I’m hard pressed to think of one thing. But then you just blunder on to the next disastrous prediction.

Aug 20, 2022, 07:22

Do you ever get anything right about rugby, tennis, cricket?   By the way what happened to Nadal in Round 2 of the tournament?    Are you stil bored with the tennis played by Medvedev/

FINAL

4     Stefanos Tsitsipas      vs     Borna Coric

Tsitsipas has not won a single tournament this year - hope he wins this one./ Coric wonand is now the 2022 Montreal Open Champion.  Congrats to him.

Back to your seuntjie…..are you still in love?

Aug 20, 2022, 18:36

I am not in love with anybody - especially not with stupidity as displayed by you.   What happened to Nadal in round 2  - idiot supreme?

Aug 20, 2022, 20:18

What happened to Nadal in the Australian Open and the French Open shortly after returning from injury. That’s right, he played a few warm up tournaments, where he lost early and then in the 5 set majors, there he was….champion again. Live and learn moron.

Aug 21, 2022, 05:43

The fact is he went out in Round 2 - in other words the first natch he actually played in thsi tournament.

The answer is clear and easy to identify - Nadal is not match-fit and that is the reason for the early  exit.    With aging it is difficult to get matchfit after an absence and injuries take longer to recover from as well.     You do not know enough about an sport to come up with any real answer anyway.   .

Aug 21, 2022, 06:24

Why don’t you just accept the facts Clever….you know nothing about tennis, because you have never played it competitively…and your prediction of an Alcaraz romp through the Majors has left you with major egg on your face.

With aging Nadal and Djokovic have won 3 out of 3 majors this year…kinda blows your case right out of the water.

Aug 21, 2022, 06:30

I see you have erased your Medvedev prediction….hilarious…you predict a Alcatraz/ Medvedev final and then you eliminate the posting when they lose. Pompous and totally dishonest. The amazing thing is there are still posters on this site that see you as a kind old gent

Aug 21, 2022, 10:09

It was no prediction it was a guess - there is a difference you know idiot supreme.    Nobody could predict anything in the last two tournaments.     The results were all unexpected and some players were indeed under-performing.      I am not stupid enough to not see that - you are.

As to Alcaraz  he was injured when playing in the French open - it was even commented on by the commentators - was poor on grass as pointed out in my comments and has not adjusted to hard court tennis after the lay-off.     The talent and ability is there  - he will come back to form - you are just too idiotic to understand that.

Aug 21, 2022, 15:20

So you eliminated your guess….it’s the same thing. The ‘expert’ covering his tracks. Dishonest.

As for Alcatraz he was injured at the French you say. But Nadal was playing on one healthy foot and he still won. Traz may yet emerge as    the leading clay court player, but only time will tell. He will never match the Joker, Nadal and Federer. Hell he may not even win one major.

The nauseating thing about you as a fan is your premature  writing off of three of the  greatest players in tennis history…belittling their amazing ability to continue winning against physical adversity. Contrasted with your wide eyed hero worship of a kid who has still to prove himself.

It echoes your way too early write off of Habana, Matfield, Jean and Vermeulen to name a few. Vermeulen is a  classic case. MOM in the WC final and 2 years before that you were saying he was done. Imbecilic!

Aug 21, 2022, 16:55

Why dream of the past and wrote garbage about the present.   In any event have you seen how many matches Alcaraz played since the French Open and have you seen what  they enailed.  Just enough to you writing him off as a player.   Happy idiots day.

By the way - you know why I took the guess out - because you misinterpreted it. as a forecast.     .

Aug 21, 2022, 17:05

No you took your guess out because it was dead wrong.

Aug 21, 2022, 18:41

I  took it out because you were abusing it and causing shit out of nothing.
