After putting in some hard work to get the final barriers preventing Declan Rice from becoming an Arsenal player, the North-London club have finally reached a full agreement with West Ham over the proposed transfer of the 24-year-old England international.

Rice is believed to have been keen on joining Arsenal from the start, despite reports of other top clubs being interested in his services.

The amount of the fee wasn’t really an issue – it was agreed at £105 million (add-ons included), though the structure and timing of the payments needed some thrashing out. Now that’s done, and Rice’s transfer to Arsenal is imminent.

It’s been a busy day in North London. Arsenal have just reached an agreement with Ajax over the proposed transfer of Jurrien Timber, according to multiple sources. The Gunners are set to pay an initial fee of €40 million for the services of the 22-year-old defender, plus easily achievable add-ons worth €5m.

Al-Ahli have completed and confirmed the signing of Roberto Firmino as a free agent, following the expiration of his contract with Liverpool at the end of June. The Merseysiders had offered him a new deal, but with younger players bursting onto the scene at the club, Firmino obviously felt it was time to move on and look for another challenge.

The Brazilian spent eight extremely successful years at Anfield, winning almost every trophy club football has to offer, and his name will surely be remembered for a very long time by the world-wide support of the six-time European champions.

Manchester United complete Mason Mount signing

Manchester United have completed and confirmed the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea. The 24-year-old midfielder joins the Red Devils on a five-year contract after they reportedly agreed to pay Chelsea £55 million plus £5m in potential add-ons.

Mount was very clear on his wish to leave Chelsea, telling the Blues straight away he wouldn’t be signing a new contract, and with his old one expiring at the end of the upcoming season, it made sense for them to cash in on his services while they still could. Liverpool were also reportedly interested at first, but they withdrew from the conversation when it emerged Mount would prefer Old Trafford as his destination.

Chelsea looking at Veiga and/or Valverde

Speaking about Mount, Chelsea are reportedly considering Celta Vigo star Gabri Veiga as a potential replacement for the new Manchester United player.

The 21-year-old midfielder is believed to have a €40 million release clause in his contract with the La Liga club, and he was previously linked with Manchester City and Liverpool, as well as Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on adding Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde to his ranks. It remains to be seen, however, if the Blues have enough pulling power to prize the Uruguay international away from the 14-time European champions.

On the other hand, Real have added Jude Bellingham to an already impressive midfield roster, and it could prove more difficult than before for Valverde to get regular game-time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
