Have highlighted the important ones and moved those that should be near the top 10 up...overall rankings are on the left.

The biggest loser here as far as I can tell has been Maharaj. Particularly since Markram did well with the ball...far better, and scored more runs.

Coetzee, the young guy some of us were talking about, ended with great bowling stats, just behind our Mitchel Johnson.

Anrich "Mitch" Nortje was dangerous and fast throughout. We need to look after him because he's easily one of the most dangerous bowlers in the world right now. Fast, accurate, and is doing his best to emulate Mitch's Golden years...which even if he only manages to do 50% of is still a great result. Probably the most interesting player for the Proteas right now.

Magala did well, but I'm not much of an underdog guy when it comes to cricket. Lose weight, get fit and then maybe.

Roelof did better than everybody else but I'm not sure he'll get a shot for the Proteas cos he's getting on a bit. Bowled a few brilliant deliveries though.

The batting is much of a muchness, with Klaasen being my pick...based on the amount of runs and his average.

Markram hit a couple of big scores and that really helped his cause. His 100 was a good knock. Still, there's something no right there. There's something about his aura that says he's not feeling confident. Even during his 100 knock, there were times when one could tell his body language was that of someone trying to affirm belief in himself. Almost awkward. He got lots of runs though so well done to the guy...and confirmed that he should be a steady part of the SA bowling attack, particularly in the short format. He's an all-rounder, like we've been saying for ages now.

Brevis and Stubbs both finished in the top 20 which is decent to see but we have to admit that they may need a while longer before being ready for international cricket proper.

I'm probably more disappointed by Brevis than I'd i like to be. He looks like he wants to carry the big hitter tag. That's fine, but then put yourself into a position where you can have those big innings. He doesn't appear to be interested in rotating strike...or not as much as he should be. Hopefully that changes, I'm sure it will.

Oh Dear, a mother of a faux pas .....

Roelof did better than everybody else but I'm not sure he'll get a shot for the Proteas cos he's getting on a bit.

Roelof you blithering Buffoon is an expat South African who represented South Africa at both age and national level. He currently represents the Dutch national side and did so as recently as the T20 2021 WC. He was a member of the team who embarrassed the Proteas in their infamous encounter.

Here once again.....geniet!

There’s Klaasen with an average twice that of Ock and with a higher strike rate. No comments on that huh Quisling.

Schplottttttttt!

Deflect to your heart's content it ain't gonna help your Arsewipe.......subject matter remains subject matter, your attempts to cover it up makes it even funnier if that's humanly possible.

I knew he played for the Proteas aunty Dentsie.

Didn’t know he played for Netherlands though…and never watched Proteas v Netherlands game.

You do know that i watch Proteas right?

Who cares if he played for the Netherlands….more to the point Comrade never played for anybody and has no feel for the game, so he relies on little, irrelevant facts.

Lol he also jumped on the Maharaj bandwagon when i said i didn’t rate him that highly anymore.

Yet another call that aunty Dentsie relied on numbers to make, because he doesn’t understand the game…only to end up all red faced.

Lol 4 wickets in 10 outings of a slog fest.

Similar to when he decided to go on he offensive regarding Reeza on the very same day that Rossouw came out calling Reeza world class on the back of a monstrously dominant season with the bat.

I get why he so resentful. I’d be too if i was wrong as often as he is.

Lol who was better, Lara or Tendulkar? I still laugh my arse off every time i think about that post.

In all seriousness, Dentsie…are you ever going to give us one single analysis of your own? It doesn’t have to be correct. It should just show that you know at least a teensy bit about the only sport you show any interest in on here.

The competition was marred by poor fielding and when it came to that one of the worst fielders was in fact Klaasen.   Mised catches aplenty and that showed why some players are bad on international level.

As per normal Mozart totally lost it in his comments.  Klaasen bat lower on the batting line-up and he has a better chance to be not out as a result.   That impact on his high average score.

Faulty logic, Mike.

Coming in lower down the order gives you fewer balls to face and more pressure.

Klaasen finished with 93% of the total runs that the top scorer in the competition got. (Buttler 391 - Klassen 363). By your own logic, one could assume that Klaasen may have finished with the most runs in the competition had he batted at 3 instead of lower down.

Nobody is saying that Klaasen should suddenly open the batting in Tests or ODIs but what we are saying is that he did damn well and is in fine form.

Just give credit where it's due.

The larger point is that Makram is more valuable than Maharaj and should probably replace him in ALL formats while batting at 6 or 7.
