BEEEEEEEE‘Bavuma at 3!!!???
What’s it, 1 x 100 in 94 innings and averaging a staggering 34.
I see he did super well today hahaha
Why do you do this to yourself???

Plum, I'll say this very slowly........I don't care about your cricket thoughts and opinions, I regret wasting my time arguing with you.....much as I welcome cricket debate and opinion I think of yours as irrelevant and insignificant.
Consider my post a favour.
You're now struggling or should I say scraping to ridicule me which just goes to demonstrate a somewhat bruised ego.
But tell me this....in what position would you place Bavuma?
And again......consider my response a favour.
Bavuma should not play test cricket.
deleted
...was trying something
No Draad, he should bat at 3. The spot generally reserved for the best player in the side.
So says aunty full-o-Dentsie.
Imagine having one 100 to you name, as a front line batter, in a hundred innings and believing that you’re not a BEE pick.
Nogal skippie and all.
Lol
I think Peterson was unlucky yesterday...there was something on the Snicko...
a whisper, but there.
I’m in snow land so didn’t manage to catch any of the game but kept some tabs on the score.
I still can’t believe that Bavuma is our test captain.
It’s a slap in the face to our cricket. I don’t think Markram should be an opener but i do think he should be in the side and i would have given him the job.
And Nortje cleans up.
Lekker, Mitch!!!
And Bavuma goes for a pair...Karma is a bitch...I actually
liked him a few years ago...he reminded me of Peter Kirsten, but he just couldn't step up...software problem.
How can the skipper add a pair of ducks to his average in test cricket.
He is an not worth a place in the team or being made the Skipper.
Unfortunately politics in all walks of life in RSA is the reason.
Never has worked in RSA but the same road is continuing to lead to the shambles.
Sad when you see the TV coverage of the crowds enjoying the SA T20 games and the pride they take in their teams and now we are back in this ANC camp.
If only we had the balls to start forming rebel teams.
Must admit, I’m stoked that BEE’vuma got two ducks.
He know’s he doesn’t deserve the skipper’s job but he said yes anyway.
Well with his connections in the political world who else was considered.
But sadly he has really turned into a joke.
A bad one.
"He know’s he doesn’t deserve the skipper’s job but he said yes anyway."
That's the problem with BEE...these guys are convinced by the PTB that it's their duty to be a symbol of hope for their country...I don't blame them, I pity them...the preasure on them is immense...same with Kolisi...atleast for him a case can be made that he's there on merit....sort of...
Yep I am not blaming him for accepting the captaincy but his form does not merit a spot in the playing team at present.
But with that said it would not be accepted by the ANC for him to be sidelined or replaced as Kaptein.
Unfortunately he is being used for political reasons
by you know who.
Jansen doing the business this morning.
This guy just keeps impressing.
Bowlers having to save Protea bacon yet again.
There is no point wasting more time on Bavuma and Elgar. We’ve seen all we’re gonna see from them and it isn’t enough.
Granted, Elgar has done a job for us at times but he was never top tier and has overseen a shocking period of Protea’s batting.
Bavuma is a giant wad of television pixels.
I say, get the more talented young guys in, bite the bullet for a couple of years and then reap the rewards for a decade.
There’s no point messing around any more. We’ve been batting like shyte for years and years now and it’s because keep wanting to hang on to guys with sub 40 averages simply because they have experience.
We have a good handful of clearly test quality youngsters and we should be building a unit not instead of trying these patch jobs.
I can’t see us batting any more
Malan Brevis Stubbs Markram Rickleton Klaasen
You can’t tell me that top six would’t get more runs than the current.
KG kinda saved the day in the end.
Two decent scores all we managed in this Test.
Another batting failure as far as i’m concerned.
Blackwood got lucky to make it closer, but it still was a walk in the park...
Only a walk in the park because the Windies suck at batting. Anything like Pakistan or better and we’d be seriously struggling to cope.
I agree that both Elgar and Bavuma should go...and I don't see the point with playing Klaassen now...they should be begging De Kock to come back.
No, there's 26yr wickie Ryan Rickleton in the current squad ready to go.
Welcome back, aunty.
What did you think of the test?
De Kock fails when he needs to succeed, like at WCs. But what happened to Verrynne the man that the selectors were derelict in not selecting.
I still like him for the Test side, Moz…but he’s a keeper. Though, I’d take him as a batter ahead of Bavuma and Pietersen.
Agree on Quintie. He’s a hired gun that can win you game on his own but when the pressure is on, he’s not the guy one wants there.
He can stay in the T20 side.
QsK won us twice the matches he lost us...we are better with him tban without...not playing him is stupid and weakens us...I would play him and Verreynne....Klaassen isn't bad, but it's too late for him...ship sailed already.
With the way we’ve batted in tests for the last 3 years…we may as well just play an ODI squad in Tests.
QDK doesn’t wanna play Tests though.
This is interesting, the top South African WC batsmen:
Klusener 124
AB de Villiers 63.52
Faf du Plessis 57.57
Gibbs 56.15
Miller 51.11
Hudson 47.58
Kirsten 47.41
……..
De Ock 29.8….way down on his ODI average for all internationals of 45.57. More proof that de Ock simply doesn’t come through when it counts. If we exclude the non crucial ODIs his stats plummet further.
That would include the Sri Lanka match in 2015, where their total was so low, pressure was alleviated and the dead rubber match against Oz when we were already out. Take those matches out and his average drops to a less than mediocre 22.64.
Pressure and poor technique…he was really a number 6 bat where he would occasionally come off.
See, Dentsie…that’s how you make a call.

“ It’s a slap in the face to our cricket. I don’t think Markram should be an opener but i do think he should be in the side and i would have given him the job.”
Ask nicely and I’ll tell you where I bought my crystal ball.
Well Markram nearly got a century and Captain got into double figures.
Progress but that is against the WI not one of the major test teams.
Liked de Zorzi's steady knock.
Liked de Zorzi's steady knock.
So did I, let's hope there's a lot more to follow, we really don't need another one swallow.
Also interested to see how Rickleton goes in the 2nd innings.
I see skippy got 50. Are we in line for his second century every in Test cricket?
I hope so, because yet again our batting has crumbled.
Linde and Jansen should be playing ahead of Maharaj and Harmer.
Because what else must the Proteas do prove that we need a very very very long tail?
165*
Well Captain really has played a responsible captain's innings at the right time.
Sure has us "Bavuma" knockers eating humble pie with this innings.
Good knock and I hope that he makes 200 plus.
Just shows that he has the talent and that hopefully the slump in his game is over.
Still on cricket did any of you folks watch the Green batting performance against India.
What a great cricketer this young man is.
Power batting on a spinners wicket and against India's best spinners......unbelievable performance.
The lead is 360 atm.
Glad Bavuma finally got a score but it is a rarity.
Perhaps he’ll find some good form for a while.
He now has two centuries in a hundred innings and is 32. This score should see him stay in the team until he retires :/
Well done to him, but one swallow doesn't a spring make...he'll have to build on this, but our next test is only in 9 months time...we don't play enough tests...
Lol the Windies are a joke
Still on cricket did any of you folks watch the Green batting performance against India.
Sure did, I posted about him 2 years ago, he's the real deal and fulfilling his potential as many have predicted.
He suffered a serious back issue and was away from the game for a lengthy period, upon his return it was decided that his bowling would be restricted.
Cameron Green......remember the name, potentially the next "big thing"
Well Kaptein delivered once more.
But what a poor performance from most of the
team. The bowling was shit as was the batting except for De Kock and Bavuma.
Stubbs has never performed well in the Protea squad with the bat and his place must be questioned after this game and the SA T20 games poor performances.
"Jangles" Ngidi is useless and is not a top class bowler in any shape or form but unfortunately does have the major requirement for selection.
After this show the manager and coaches must be rolling the "OLD bones" method for selecting the team for the next game.
Perhaps the old custom method is better that them selecting.
Kolisi...atleast for him a case can be made that he's there on merit....sort of...
Kolisi is one of the worst non-whites to ever represent South Africa. Chiliboy didn't want to captain the side because he felt he was a political pawn, it took persuasion. Tyibilika rejected a call-up for the same reasons, but Jake talked him out of it. People can make a stand if they choose to. The likes of Bavuma and Kolisi don't and won't because the perks are too good to turn down. These are not honest people with good character.
Well unfortunately the tables have been turned and we now have to abide by the party in power set of rules.
Kolisi was never the better flank to represent the Boks but he was selected and made Captain by decree and that is that.
In his defence he has had a few good appearances as a player but as a captain he is certainly wanting.
Captains are not created they either have the skill, respect and personality or they don't.
But I for one think he has had his run and should move on.
Bavuma is a different case his family is deeply involved in ANC politics and this is not acceptable to the regular cricket follower.
Making him captain has cast a shadow over him as a player with political support for all around him off the field and has sadly added additional pressure on him as a player.
He has the batting skills to perform as we have recently witnessed but unfortunately the political ties will always surround him as a player and captain.
Simple, sport and politics never ever go together.
So ummm DoosXL.....who would your
white ball captain be?
Rickleton…..waaaaahahaha!
Well played century by Bavuma, but it was all for nothing...he couldn't get over the line...
Anyone to captain but him. Both Rabada and Ngidi are great cricketers and well spoken....if we must have a black African captain, they are more than capable enough...the midget is almost there, but not quite...and he's been almost there for years now...
Kolisi has had some good moments. He has never in his entire career had a solid test. I have seen most of several of his season at Super Rugby level, and nothing ever stood out as warranting selection for the Boks. He is a feel-good story and the right colour. Nothing more. He isn't even a forward, merely a big back. Stastistics show that Bavuma is more of the same. There is no defence for either one.
Dentsie, i thought i told you to to ask me for your cricket opinions.
Hilarious…watching Dentsie, a girl that will literally never put her neck out by actually having an opinion, call Deus names…a chap that lives with his neck out and and is always giving analysis and opinions.
Dentsie is just barely smart enough to realise that he should be very insecure in the present company. Which makes it all the funnier :)
Doos XL
You're confused.
We're talking cricket not rugby.
How on earth can one compare cricket stats with rugby stats.....hilarious.
And OBTW.....Temba Bavuma, your royal ignorance, has an
Now stop evading my question........who would you choose as the ODI captain from the current squad?
Am I confused? Lefties can never stay on point. The comparison was made between Kolisi and Bavuma. I put them in context. I didn't compare cricket stats with rugby stats. Yes, hilarious indeed. evading a question? I don't care to make a call for who should be captain. I merely think its obvious to even those who don't follow the game closely that this is not the right man for the job. Now go have Mrs Searle tend to your hemorrhoids, they're clearly bothering you.
Comrade September is very cautious when out on his own….and he should be.
Doos XL
Statistics show that Bavuma is more of the same.
They do?
Really?
Damned if I know how anyone can foolishly compare the statistics of two different players across two completely different sports and then argue that it's in context, if not hilarious then it's plain damn dumb.
But here's the thing, I'll cut you some slack on condition that you quote any ODI batting stat superior to Bavuma's from any other player in the squad.
Go for it!
There are one of two things happening here.
Full-O-Dentsie is either far dumber than he suggests anyone else is or he’s simply too frightened to further the debate so chooses to say that Deus is comparing rugby and cricket stats when he’s clearly not.
“The straw man fallacy avoids the opponent’s actual argument and instead argues against an inaccurate caricature of it.”
Just stop it, you cowardly mong.
Comrade
September will ‘cut you some slack’ ….watch your back.
Jansen proves his worth once more. Great knock from Klaasen too. Klaasen is a naturally aggressive player and I can't see why he shouldn't
approach his test batting in the same way.
