The four-Test rookie has made scores of 201 not out, 168 not out, zero, 144, 251 and four in his last six visits to the crease, across club cricket, the Sheffield Shield and the one-day cup.

Just three men have reached 250 in the Sheffield Shield at a younger age than Green: Sir Donald Bradman, Doug Walters and Steve Smith.

Green is also the top run-scorer in this summer's Sheffield Shield, having compiled 817 runs at an average of 102.12 from 10 innings.

And he's the youngest cricketer to have reached 150 three times in a Sheffield Shield competition since South Australia's David Hookes over the 1976-77 summer

Cameron Green is obviously a very good player as an all-rounder - but I think he was pushed to early  and in the tests he played in he was rather harmless.  He also in 2020 went to India to play in the IPL and failed there  with the result that he is not on contract this year

I think he has mega-class  potential - but pushing him too early may have a negative impact on his career.
